Former Celtic midfielder Dylan McGeouch has been training with Livingston as he looks to get into shape in order to find a new club.

It had been revealed last week that his old Hoops teammate Leigh Griffiths was also training under David Martindale at the West Lothian club.

The 29-year old spent two years at Pittodrie before being released by the club this summer with McGeouch yet to find a new home to play his football.

He made a bit of an impact during his time at Easter Road before heading north and was part of the famous Hibs team which won the 2016 Scottish Cup with McGeouch also gaining two international caps while in Leith.

Much like Griffiths it doesn’t look as though he’ll be joining up with Livingston but has spoken of his gratitude to the Livi boss for giving him an opportunity to come in.

“He [Martindale] got in contact with me a few weeks ago and offered me to come in and get training and use it for fitness which is good. I appreciate it,” said McGeouch speaking on Open Goal.

It will be important that he gets his fitness levels up while on the hunt for a new club, whether that will be in Scotland or elsewhere although he has undoubtedly played his best football in Scotland.

At 29, there is still plenty of milage left in the midfielder who will be eager to get back playing as soon as possible.
