Former Celtic academy graduate Calvin Miller is once again on the hunt for a new club after leaving National League side Chesterfield [Chesterfield FC].

Miller spent ten years at Celtic, after he signed for the Hoops at the age of 12. In his early years he made quite the impression in international youth football being tipped as one to watch in later years.

He was handed his debut as an 18-year old by Brendan Rodgers in a 1-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Celtic Park in December 2016.

At that point, the former Hoops boss revealed that although Miller tended to be considered as an attacking player that he would gradually be focusing on the more defensive side of the game.

He was given some opportunities the following season but failed to surmount any challenge towards Kieran Tierney as the first choice left back at the club.

After signing a new deal with the Scottish champions he experienced various loan spells in Scotland heading out to Dundee and Ayr United before returning and hoping to make an impact under Neil Lennon.

After refusing to be part of a deal which would bring Greg Taylor to the club, Miller suffered an injury in a reserve match which practically put an end to his Celtic dreams with his contract up at the end of the season.

Miller departed the Hoops in May 2020 before heading down south to apply his trade at clubs such as Harrogate Town, Notts County and Chesterfield before being released.

A return to Scotland may be in Miller’s best interests as he looks to get his career back on track.
