BARI has confirmed Liam Henderson has been the subject of a sensational bid by Italian giants Fiorentina.

Last weeks reports suggested the Italian club were interested in signing the former Celtic youth academy player, and the club has confirmed this.

“Firstly, it’s true Fiorentina have made an offer for Liam Henderson.” Said Bari Soorts director Sean Solgiano.

“But matters like this aren’t to be rushed – we must evaluate all offers for him.

“Fiorentina weren’t the first club to show interest in Liam – Parma, Atalanta and Bologna have also enquired.

“Also, there is interest from him from foreign clubs too.“

This is a massive turnaround for the midfielder who was used sparingly at Celtic then sold in January for a nominal fee to Bari.

Since then, Liam has lit up Serie B and it was disappointing to see the club not gain promotion.

Coupled with the financial problems Bari have been having, they really could do with a large fee for the player – something they are likely to get.

What a move and change of fortunes that would.
