Steven Pressley has conceded that his recent “definite” title prediction favouring Rangers might have been premature.

Pressley, who crossed the Glasgow divide, says the momentum is with Celtic for their last five matches of the season.

Reflecting on the Scottish Premiership title race, he acknowledged the shifting momentum following Rangers’ 3-2 defeat to Ross County, which has given Celtic a four-point lead, although Rangers still hold a game in hand to play on Wednesday night in Dundee.

As the Scottish Cup semi-finals approach, with Celtic set to face Aberdeen and Hearts to battle Rangers, there is a break in league action for a week.

Although, Pressley was still keen to discuss the biggest talking point in Scottish football at the moment. He said: [Glasgow World] “Well I said probably about six weeks ago that Rangers would definitely win the title, but what do I know! The truth is I made the statement on what I believed at the time but there is always a spanner in the works and last weekend proved that.

“It makes for a really intriguing last six weeks. The interesting aspect is for Rangers now is it’s still in their own hands as if they win the Old Firm game, but again, they are not in a position where they can drop more points. Celtic probably can afford one more slip as long as they take care of the Old Firm. The momentum has swung back to Celtic. It’s going to be really interesting.”

Celtic can win the league against Rangers if Clement’s men lose a game before the derby. Celtic will have to go on a perfect streak and win the derby if this was to happen.
