BARRY FERGUSON has made the shock Celtic prediction the club will not be beaten again this season after watching the Ibrox club eke out a win last weekend.

Celtic played well but were punished in the cruellest of ways when a corner hit off the shoulder of Callum McGregor and landed in the back of the net. The bhoys got nothing for their efforts and fell 19 points behind in the league.

If the club can win their three games in hand, it still means ten points between them and their Glasgow rivals.

Ferguson has warned Steven Gerrard’s men, they must continue to win or Celtic will creep up on them.

“If Rangers can come through this month of January unscathed I think they will be in poll position to get the title.” Ferguson told Glasgow Live.

“On the other hand, I don’t think Celtic will drop any more points. I do. I honestly think they will have got so much confidence from that performance (against Rangers) with the new players coming in and a new formation.

“He’s found a new formula that looks very good on the eye. I think that’s the best I have seen Celtic play.

“It’s up to the manager and the experienced guys there to say ‘we can compete and put one over on Rangers in terms of performance’ and you seen that in the first 60 minutes.

“The only thing that Celtic couldn’t do and that was down to one guy, Allan McGregor who made some fantastic saves.

“The ball is in Rangers court, of course it is, but this is a massive month and it’s not something Rangers have been used to.”

Opinion

This is something a fan or pundit says when they don’t want to fuel the other side. It also gives them scope to say how surprised they are the next time Celtic drop points.

The bhoys has been going well before Ibrox and if the diamond can hold in the next few games, they should rack up a few more wins but there’s nothing suggesting we can go the rest of this season unbeaten.
