Celtic are just waiting on the all clear to bring Hatem Abd Elhamed into the club with the paperwork just needing sorted to make it official.

The player will become Celtic’s fourth summer signing and help strengthen the defence which was severely weakened with the amount of exits at the end of last season.

With the defender waiting to become a Celtic player, a former Neil Lennon signing who knows Hatem very well has lifted the lid on what he has personally said to the defender on his move to Celtic.

Beram Kayal was once signed by the Irishman and for a brief period was one of our better midfielders. Asked what he has told Hatem, the Israeli made sure the defender knew how big a move this is.

“What did I say to him? I told him that it will probably be the best day of his life when he signs for Celtic.” Kayal told Record Sport.

“He’s a really good player and, most importantly, he’s ready to be a Celtic player.

“When you are joining such a big club as Celtic then you need experience and he has that now, including making his debut for the international team.”

Hatem can play centre back and right back so he will be versatile enough to fill in either role when need be.

Some fantastic words from Kayal will already have the player buzzing and will assure some Celtic fans of his quality.
