CELTIC are set to sign four players in this January’s transfer window and no more. This report comes after being linked to many players since the summer window slammed shut.

Football Scotland appears confident the permanent signing of Jota will be joined by the Japanese trio consisting of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, and Yosuke Ideguchi. The deals for the Japanese trio are said to be close to completion with the club confident that they will be in Glasgow for the new year.

The permanent signing of Jota could go through in the January window with the club taking up on the option to buy the player.

Celtic are in desperate need of signings to add to the depth of the squad, and adding three players won’t fully satisfy some of the fans. Two midfielders, one versatile, will definitely add to the depth. The signing of Maeda, who can play anywhere in the front three, will also be welcomed by the fans.

However, the addition of these players will certainly bolster the squad and could even give Ange a selection headache, the first time he will suffer one of these in a positive way.

January windows are normally quieter but to prepare for Champions League qualifiers these transfer opportunities are important for the squad, although Celtic may not have to worry about qualifiers next season.

  1. It’s all speculation at present so let’s wait and see.
4 players in on a January window is pretty decent work.
Remember this isn’t the EPL so the money spent in January eats into the summer transfer kitty!
