Fraser Forster was a fan-favourite in his time at Celtic. The English ‘keeper had numerous memorable displays in green and white in Europe and domestically.

He now plies his trade for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs as a backup and has recently named his dream five-a-side team. Interestingly, the 35-year-old included a mixture of three current and ex-Celts in it.

Some household names were in Forster’s team. He said (Tottenham Hotspurs Podcast via Football Scotland): “Right, I’ll put Joe Hart in goal. It’s got to be Harry Kane up front. Do you know who I’d put in midfield? He played here as well, Victor Wanyama. I played with him at Southampton and Celtic, an incredible player. He’d destroy people in midfield. Not Spurs but Virgil van Dijk.”

Wanyama

The four-time Scottish Premiership winner also added Wayne Rooney to his team which would utterly dominate at a local Powerleague. Van Dijk is utterly solid and Hart is a more than competent option between the sticks.

As Forster mentioned, Wanyama is like a Rolls-Royce in the engine room. He scored on that famous night against Barcelona in 2012, a game in which the ‘keeper was labelled as ‘la gran muralla’ – the great wall – by the Spanish media.

That performance will be remembered for years to come, much similar to his display in the League Cup final in 2019. Forster is one of the Hoops’ foremost goalies over the past decade or so, and some of his antics in Glasgow are unforgettable.
