CELTIC will find out as early as Monday if they will have a reserve side in the Lowland’s league next season.

After the news broke on Wednesday evening, things have progressed at a rapid pace and now clubs who are set to benefit financially from the two Glasgow sides being entered into the league.

Celtic will put up 25k to join the league in a one-off trial season to see how things go.

It would allow the Hoops to field a team of young players and help them develop under Celtic coaches.

SunSport report the clubs will now sit down over the weekend and weigh up the pros and cons.

Celtic put a lot of youngsters out on loan this season, especially in the last three months.

Loans can be really beneficial but the great thing about a colt side, if used properly, these players can be getting used to the first team system. If there’s cohesion at the club, reserve players will find the step up to the first team less daunting if they play the same role in the same system at a higher level.
