GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS has completed his transfer to MLS side Atlanta and has made his first appearance in the media.
He’s upset some people in Scotland with his comments. In all honesty, they were fairly accurate.
The Greek striker opened up on his frustrations about having to play against a low block every week, admitting the league wasn’t very competitive and it was up to Celtic to break these sides down, dominate possession and find space.
In 10 of Celtic’s last 11 games, the team have faced a back 5, which just proved Giakoumakis’ point.
Last season he topped the scoring charts with ease, with just one goal before Christmas due to a number of fitness reasons, he was on fire from January. Admittedly, his argument would hold more weight if he had more than 1 goal in his last 11 games at Celtic.
His comments have caused some debate on Twitter.
GG absolutely trashing Scottish football in his Atlanta press conference. I mean, he's not wrong but Christ 😬😭 pic.twitter.com/vevt8QDhDb

I think some fans are upset of who is delivering the comments more than the comments themselves.
It must be so demotivating for the players, playing against the similar defensive tactics week after week, unable to express themselves fully in the attacking third.
I disagree, it just shows what type of man he was. Posting things on Instagram is unprofessional as Ange admitted himself. Now he bad mouths Scotland. No class, no decency, we are well rid of him!
