GIORGOS GIAKOUAMKIS was quick to remind viewers who tuned into Sky Sports that winning the league meant everything to the fans, and he thanked them for standing by the team throughout the highs and lows of the season.

He believed his side would come out on top. After all, he did play for the best team in the country. The Greek striker was publicly confident, and controversial, but he was right.

Speaking live on Sky Sports, the summer deadline day signing said;

“Look at these people. We owe this league to them. They stood with us. Even when second; they stood beside us.”

Giakouamkis experienced the lows of relegation last season to the highs of title winners this season.

The Greek striker has been a terrific signing for Celtic. The frontman has been a menace to the opposition defence and has an eye for goal. On Wednesday night, he was the scorer of Celtic’s goal, another one-touch finish for the club’s new hero.

He missed much of the first half of the season through injury but has still registered eleven league goals, just two goals behind Regan Charles-Cook at the top. Will he bag a hat-trick on Saturday to push his name to the top of the list?
