Celtic left-back Greg Taylor has expressed his eagerness for the return of key players Reo Hatate and Liel Abada, acknowledging the significant impact they can have on the team’s performance.

Reo Hatate, who has been sidelined for two months due to a hamstring issue, is nearing his return to the team. He’s had it tough this season with injuries, but he’ll be looking to put his troubles behind him to take the third slot in midfield, if Bernardo doesn’t keep him out of it.

Meanwhile, Liel Abada has been recovering from a quad injury since September, marking a more extended period away from the pitch. He hasn’t been seen for Celtic since September 3, picking up his injury in training while away with his national side.

Taylor is optimistic about the boost their return will bring to the team, given both players’ notable contributions.

The Scottish full-back said; “Yeah exactly. Back, not just for the game at the weekend, but just in general. We have missed these guys,” as quoted by RecordSport.

“Reo brings a real dynamism. He’s strong on the ball, creative with real energy in midfield.

“And Liel is a threat in behind always. He’s a goalscorer, so yeah, two guys who are top players for us.

“They have been injured for a long time, so to have competition for places and have these guys back who played real vital roles last season will only help us.”

While it’s unlikely that either Hatate or Abada will start in the Glasgow Derby clash after their lengthy absences, Brendan Rodgers hasn’t ruled out their involvement.
