Leigh Griffiths has completed his move to Celtic after the two clubs agreed on a fee thought to be just under the million mark. Griffiths travelled north this morning after Wolves accepted an improved bid, and he accepted personal terms and shortly after signed a three and a half year deal. The deal is the one that we all focused on throughout this window as Celtic needed a goalscorer. The 23-year-old returns to Scotland following a loan spell at Hibs.

The main concern from Celtic fans is about the attitude of the Scottish striker, after he has been in trouble with the police and has made some poor comments on Twitter in recent years, however we should look past this. If Griffiths focuses on his football he could prove to be a very important Celtic player, he’s a proven goalscorer both in League one and in the SPL and is only young. He has huge potential, but more importantly, he has the quality that will see us score plenty of goals and win crucial matches as we look to maintain our unbeaten season and win the double. Lennon called him a ‘prolific goalscorer’ and he said the player ‘will make us better’, something that all Celtic fans expect.

Joe Ledley may leave the club tonight to go to Crystal Palace after a fee between the two clubs was agreed. He has flown into London but has not yet arrived at the Palace training ground with less than three hours to go. Lennon has said that time might be an issue and Joe has said himself that he is cutting things fine, but with his contract up in the summer and the player clearly wanting to build on his career elsewhere, let’s hope that there is enough time for the transfer to go through. I have loved Joe Ledley in a Celtic shirt  but he has gone missing in the big games and is inconsistent, something which has been a problem for the Welshman. I will always remember that header to put Celtic 1-0 up against Rangers a few years back to complete the turn around and put us top. He will be remembered as a decent Celtic player whether he leaves tonight or in the summer and he goes with our best wishes.

The only other transfer news from Park Head is that Dylan McGeouch has joined Coventry on loan until the end of the season and Joe Chalmers has also left on loan, after agreeing to move to Falkirk.

Hail Hail
