Celtic have been linked with a move for attacking midfielder Hannes Wolf in the January window. [The Scotsman]

Despite media rumours, Ange Postecoglou made it clear last week there were no other deals in the pipeline at the moment.

Wolf and his agents have gone about plotting his escape route from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Austrian has had a torrid time over the past six months and his move to the German club has been a disaster.

Hannes possesses a great deal of talent, for whatever reason, he’s not got the chances he’d have liked in Germany.

He’s a player who looks perfect for Ange Ball and despite bringing in two midfielders in Reo Hatate and Guchi, we know Postecoglou was looking at the possibility of Riley McGree before he decided to move to Middlesbrough who is also an attacking midfielder.

It looks like Celtic’s interest in Hannes was fleeting because the player is set to complete a loan move to Swansea this week, bringing an end to any speculation he will be heading to Glasgow. [Wales Online]

The Celtic manager did say the club don’t plan on doing any more deals unless something really good comes up. Hannes apparently doesn’t fall into that bracket.

The Hoops made a winning return to the SPFL against Hibernian and have been given a big shot in the arm after their rivals dropped points.

The squad looks in a much better place, with so much on the line, we hope Celtic haven’t stubbornly closed their cheque book too early.
