Celtic fans are desperate for the club to give an update on Jota’s situation, with it looking increasingly likely he’ll be playing in green and white next season.

After a long holiday, visiting many countries, it looks like Jota is saying his final goodbyes to those at Benfica.

He was pictured at the training ground with the under 10s.

The winger visited Benfica’s training ground on Thursday morning amid speculation that he’s agreed terms with Celtic after the option to buy Jota was confirmed to his parent club.

Is This The Final Farewell?

It’s just speculation, and he could still have a few more countries to visit before he touches down in Scotland.

For the players who weren’t away on international duty, pre-season starts on Monday. Hopefully, by then, fans will have a clear answer to if Jota will be pulling on the green and white hoops next season.

By the time Monday comes around, there could be two additions to the squad, with Alexandro Bernabei also close to joining Celtic, with an agreement in principle in place.

  1. You’ve got to hand it to the new Celtic players for being great ambassadors for the club.

We’ve seen most of them at some point this summer touring the world, particularly their homelands, putting in appearances at their former clubs, inspiring young players, being charitable with their time and wages, making guest appearances on tv shows…

I’d expect us to see Jota, among others, officially sign for us tomorrow (Friday) or at some point in the next week, in time for the beginning of preseason training…
