Celtic will be looking at their options for next season with regards to personnel.

Decisions will have to be made on the likes of Vakoun Bayo. A perfect example of a fringe player who looks less and less likely to make any sort of breakthrough.

Should they sell the striker in the summer, the bhoys might find it difficult to bring in a player who will have to sit behind Edouard, Griffiths and January signing Patryk Klimala.

But, have Celtic already got a man who can come in and be that squad player, potentially challenging for game time and filling in when strikers are injured?

Neil Lennon sent Jonathan Afolabi our on loan to Dunfermline during the winter window. The Irishman has played his first few competitive games for the championship side and is starting to find his feet.

He’s quick, physical and can get among the goals.

Dunfermline manager Stevie Crawford was full of praise for the Celtic loan bhoy after the weekend..

“He now finds himself leading the line.” Crawford role Deadline News.

“He uses his body well, he brings players into the game and he has managed to score two goals, so long may that continue.

“I can remember what it was like for myself being 17, 18, 19 years of age.

“You are ready and waiting to get in there and take that opportunity.

“There were no disappointing signs at the weekend that they didn’t do well and give themselves a chance of playing against Partick.”
