It’s been another busy transfer window for Ange Postecoglou with seven arrivals at the club alongside a number of players departing with former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie expecting more to head for the exit.

Celtic most recently signed midfielder Aaron Mooy and defender Moritz Jenz with both players getting a little game time during the friendly match against Norwich City at the weekend.

Both players give an extra bit of depth to the squad that will be needed to compete on all fronts in the coming season.

The three players which McAvennie believe are destined to head for the door at Celtic are Mikey Johnston, Christopher Jullien and Albian Ajeti.

The trio have had different careers at the Hoops with Jullien and Ajeti arriving in Glasgow under Neil Lennon for large sums meaning that they will both be on a large chunk of wages.

Johnston was used the most out of the three players last term and has featured regularly in the Scottish champions pre-season but with the winger missing from the bench at the weekend, there could be a question mark beside his name.

“When you look at midfield, he’s not going to get a game. If everyone is fit, or even some of them are fit, only so many can play in the midfield,” said Frank McAvennie speaking to Football Insider.

“And he’s better than a utility player, he’s better than getting 20 minutes here and there, he’s better than that. I would like to see him going away and being a star for another team. I think it would do him the world of good to be honest.

Ajeti, he’s got to go. He’s not one of Ange’s players. I’m sure he would’ve scored goals. But Ange’s football is all about movement and Ajeti doesn’t do that. He won’t create chances because all he wants is to score goals, which isn’t a bad thing, it’s just not for Ange.

Jullien needs to be out the door because he’s obviously not in the manager’s plans. The manager can’t keep both Jullien and Welsh.

“I think these boys should go away and taste life outside of Celtic. Some of them have been there for a while.“

With another centre half already arriving it looks likely that Jullien could be set for the off with it being likely that he could be Ange’s fifth choice pick in defence. After being out for well over a year, the Frenchman badly needs game time.

There is still plenty of time to go in the window and it is likely that there will be more movement at Parkhead with incoming and outgoing transfers.
