CELTIC have received a huge injury boost ahead of the Glasgow Derby next week.
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Reo Hatate may miss out on the Ross County match, but he’ll be back in time for the derby at Celtic Park next Saturday. Aussie midfielder Aaron Mooy is in the same ship as his Japanese teammate.
Speaking to Celtic TV, the Aussie gaffer said:
“Reo and Aaron are back in training. We’ll assess them tomorrow before we make a decision. I’d suggest if it’s not this weekend, it’ll probably be next weekend”
Rumours this morning suggested that Reo would get the green light for the derby, but it’s great to have Ange Postecoglou confirming this news.
Injury fears sparked after the midfielder went down with what looked like a muscle strain in Celtic’s win against Hibs, early on into the first half. Fans were fearful that the midfielder would miss a good few weeks, but he’s returned to training on Friday and will undergo further assessments ahead of the trip to Dingwall.
The Japanese has been terrific in Celtic’s midfield this season, standing out in almost every match. He’s continued his improvement throughout the season, and use his national team snubs to motivate him further, taking it up another gear since the World Cup break.
