Celtic defender Josip Juranovic may not have been in Glasgow for long, but the Hoops support are truly taking to the full-back with his performances in the backline.

The former Legia Warsaw man joined the club in the summer, for a fee in the region of £2.5 million, with another right-back needed to join Anthony Ralston within Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

After some injuries at the beginning of his time in Scotland, Juranovic has gone on to become a fan’s favourite for some, putting in a man of the match performance against Rangers, as well as scoring from the spot on several occasions.

Just as things go in Scotland, when you put in good performances, you attract interest from other clubs. And if reports were to be believed, that is exactly what happened to Juranovic, with clubs such as Leicester being quoted as potential suitors.

However, speaking whilst on international duty with the Croatian national side, Juranovic looks to have shut down any suggestion he is looking to depart soon, insisting his ‘heart’ is with the club after a brilliant first few months.

“Yes, I am satisfied, but it can always be better; new training is a new chance; I do not want to waste a single part of my career,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“Celtic is a great club; I enjoy it from the first day; I go to training with a smile; I enjoy the club, the city, the fans.”

When pushed on a potential future move, he continued: “Transfer? There are always some stories, but I leave that to my manager; I am at Celtic with all my heart.”

It is great to hear that Juranovic has already taken to the club so strongly after such a short space of time in the country.

For fans, it is clear to see that the right-back is one of the characters within this group of players, who will be pivotal for the project under Ange across the next few seasons.

Hopefully, this is the first of many successful seasons that the 27-year old can be a part of whilst wearing the Green and White Hoops of Celtic.
