Newest Celtic recruit Daizen Maeda has insisted he ‘can’t wait to get started’ as he addressed Hoops supporters on social media this morning.
The 24-year old striker was one of three signings completed right at the start of the January transfer window by Ange Postecoglou, joining fellow countrymen Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi.
Maeda is the first to arrive in Glasgow, as he was spotted out and about on New Year’s Eve. Yesterday, he was also unveiled to the media, speaking out for the first time since his move from Yokohama F Marinos was announced.
The Japanese internationalist has also taken to social media to send a message to Celtic supporters, stating how it was an honour to have arrived in Glasgow to play in the Green and White Hoops.
Hello everyone.
It’s an honour to be here.
I’m Daizen Maeda from Japan.
I’m grateful and delighted to be a part of Celtic. I’m looking forward to contributing to the team and sharing the joy of winning at Celtic Park with all of you. I can’t wait to get started.
Thank you! ?? https://t.co/ddycxw7qP2— 前田 大然 Daizen Maeda (@M_daizen_1020) January 2, 2022
Having previously worked with Postecoglou in his homeland, Maeda and Celtic supporters alike will be hoping to hit the ground running at Parkhead.
He is very much a welcomed addition as we prepare for the second half of the campaign.
