Japanese winger Daizen Maeda recently shared his excitement about playing against his former club Marinos in Japan as a Celtic player.
Speaking with Celtic TV, Maeda revealed that he had returned to Japan for national team duty, but this would be his inaugural experience playing games as a Celtic player in Japan.
Marinos is a formidable team under former Ibrox player Kevin Muscat, having won the league lately, just like when Maeda was there. However, the speedy attacker is determined to defeat them. Maeda’s determination to win and his eagerness to play in Japan have caught the attention of many sports enthusiasts.
“I went back to Japan for national team duty,” Daizen told Celtic TV.
“But it will be the first time to go back and play some games as a Celtic player. I’m looking forward to it.
“Marinos are a strong team. The team were strong when I was there too. They have been winning the league recently.
“Yeah, I want to beat them.”
Maeda’s journey to Celtic has been an exciting one. The 24-year-old winger joined the Scottish club in January 2022, signing a four-year deal.
The player’s move to Celtic was a significant step forward in his career, and he has made an incredible impact in his time at the club so far. The Japanese international has helped Celtic to a double in his first season and a treble in his second! Not bad at all.
The game is scheduled for July 19.
