Celtic defeated arch rivals Rangers by a goal to nil at Hampden this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou’s men took a colossal step towards the treble.

Jota’s header was the difference between the sides at the national stadium however at the back, Cameron Carter-Vickers’ performance was outstanding.

The American was utterly solid throughout today’s match, making countless blocks, interceptions and clearances as he dominated the Rangers attack.

After the game, the 25 year old was heavily praised by his teammate and match winner from today, Jota (Viaplay Sports):

“A special word to Cameron that people don’t know how many sacrifices he does to always be with us and be like a strong guy in the back”

“I’m proud of him to be in my team because he’s definitely someone who I really like to play with.”

We already knew that Carter-Vickers was playing through the pain barrier and it is amazing to see Jota recognising this and praising the American for his efforts.

He has been a standout for Celtic this campaign and today, was awarded the man of the match award for his standout performance.
