John Kennedy has provided an injury update ahead of this weekends Glasgow Derby confirming the return of one player who we could see from the start.

Speaking in his press conference this afternoon, he revealed that left-back Greg Taylor will return to the squad after a spell out injured, whilst young winger Mikey Johnston will miss out on the fixture at Parkhead.

Taylor has missed the last two fixtures, that Kennedy has taken charge in after coming off injured in Neil Lennon’s last game, after 10 minutes against Ross County. So there is a chance we could see a return to the starting line-up for the man who received a Scotland call-up this week.

Kennedy was also boosted with the return of both James Forrest and Nir Bitton, as both featured in a training ground match against Kilmarnock last weekend to build up their fitness ahead of the game.

Having the last two weeks on the training ground with no fixture last weekend, it should be interesting to see the team selection or formation that the interim boss goes with. It seems extremely unlikely at this stage but without a victory in this fixture, you would imagine Kennedy can rule out any sort of chance of getting the job on a permanent basis if he is still in the running from the Celtic board.
