Japanese international manager Hajime Moriyasu has revealed he has had several meetings whilst on his visit to Glasgow with Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou and players such as Reo Hatate & Yosuke Ideguchi.

At the end of March, the Japanese international side are set to face off against Australia and Vietnam as they look to secure a place at the Qatar 2022 World Cup later this year.

With that in mind, Moriyasu made a trip to Europe in order to speak to several available players, including the likes of Celtic duo Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi, who weren’t selected as part of his last international side.

As quoted by Sun Sport, the Japanese boss also revealed he had conversations with Ange Postecoglou and others involved at the club, as he expressed his delight at the early success of his players.

“I met with 13 players in Europe, and I wanted to visit the players who weren’t in the last squad. Those included Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate from Celtic.

“There is limited time before the next two matches, and I wanted to speak to as many of the players who could be in the squad as possible.

“I spoke with Ange Postecoglou too and the Celtic CEO. I am very proud of the success of Celtic’s Japanese players because they have been delighted with them.

“Ange told me he understood the importance of the matches, and he had been impressed with the way the Japanese team is improving and how we work with players.”

Postecoglou has very much used his knowledge of the J-League to his advantage when building his new-look Celtic side this campaign, with players such as Kyogo, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda all having impacts in the league.

The only player we are yet to see much of is Yosuke Ideguchi due to an unfortunate injury. But, from what we have seen from the 25-year old, he looks like another tidy player in the middle of the park.

With his meetings and visit to Glasgow, Moriyasu clearly sees Celtic Park as a prosperous place for his players to come to and is already eyeing up future call-ups for players such as Hatate.

Hopefully, that is something that can contribute to any future deals Postecoglou is looking to make whilst also continuing to motivate our current stars for a potential call-up to the national side.
