Over the past weeks and months, speculation has been widespread regarding Liel Abada’s potential Celtic exit.

Said murmurs only seem to be gathering pace as the weeks transpire and Yossi Benayoun, who played for numerous Premier League sides including West Ham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal throughout his career, believes the young winger should head South.

Benayoun, who also has 102 caps for Israel, told Glasgow Times:

“I hope and believe Liel Abada will play in the Premier League.

“This season, he was on a crazy run of goals and suddenly something changed.

“There was speculation about him leaving and his manager rotated a lot.

“But if he gets stability and a run of games, he will show why he is destined for the English Premier League.”

Benayoun is sporting director of the Israeli national team and will want to see his players and fellow countrymen succeed.

Abada moving to the English top flight would definitely aid him in doing so and he is correct about the attacker’s form in 2022/23.

Despite limited minutes, the 21 year old has still conjured up 24 goal contributions across all competitions which is particularly impressive.

These numbers will attract numerous suitors and Benayoun believes that Abada has to go to the Premier League to ensure his next move is a productive one:

“What I mean is when he leaves Celtic, if he were to go to another club in Europe at the same level of league, then he would probably not get to England.

“He needs to go to the English Premier League for his next move.”

These comments are rather interesting and they will have an element of bias included in them due to the previously mentioned factor about Benayoun wanting Israelis to do well abroad.

Nonetheless whatever transpires, Ange Postecoglou and his staff will have a plan in place that will be executed to utmost effectiveness.
