CELTIC’S 4-0 win over Motherwell meant Celtic would stay at the top of the table. After the Rangers also won, the gap remained at just one point.

Despite sitting at the top of the league, Postecoglou does not believe that his side has an advantage over rivals, the Rangers. With things incredibly close at the top, there could be a change of positions in a matter of a couple of hours. In full, Postecoglou said; [Daily Record]

“The table is there for everyone to see, but it shouldn’t make a difference to our performances.

“It’s not like you get any advantages for being on top or you should be more motivated if you’re second.

“What’s important for us is that we keep improving our football, and as far as I’m concerned, that’s what we’re doing.

“I’ve seen us improving our football, overcoming challenges, and we’ve just got to keep doing that until the end of the year. The table will take care of itself.”

Being top of the league does give a psychological advantage, but as the manager said, it adds motivation and desire to those chasing the top spot.

The league is Celtic’s to lose, don’t drop any points, and we are crowned champions. This is extremely unlikely; every team in the division will drop points, but the way Celtic are playing, it doesn’t seem like Postecoglou’s men will be falling many soon.
