Despite recent speculations, Celtic Football Club is definitively not pursuing Nottingham Forest’s centre-back Scott McKenna during this transfer window.

Earlier reports had hinted at Celtic’s potential interest in securing McKenna, but RecordSport has definitively confirmed that he is not on manager Brendan Rodgers’ target list.

McKenna has found himself marginalised at Forest, with no clear path back to the first team, indicating a precarious future at the English club.

The Rangers has been credited with an interest in the player who is free at the end of the season. The message from Celtic appears to be – you can have him. Celtic have too many centre-backs at present.

Even if the bhoys offload Kobayashi and Lagerbielke they’d still have four centre backs to choose from; CCV, Scales, Nawrocki and Welsh.

Celtic’s strategy remains focused and unswayed by the rumor mill. The club is actively seeking to reinforce its squad by concluding deals early in the January window.

This proactive approach aims to solidify the team’s composition and readiness, ensuring they are well-prepared and robustly strengthened for the competitive challenges awaiting in the second half of the season.
