TOMOKI IWATA was Ange Postecoglou’s third signing of the January transfer window, following fellow countryman Yuki Kobayashi and Canadian right-back Alistair Johnston through the door.

Kobayashi got his first minutes in a Celtic shirt at the weekend, playing the full ninety minutes. He’s probably in line to make his second start for the Hoops on Saturday, with Carter-Vickers ruled out with an injury.

Iwata has been on the bench a few times for Celtic but hasn’t gotten onto the pitch yet. Ange Postecoglou has admitted he’s still getting up to speed and has admitted he’ll only get minutes if it’s right for him.

Confirming he’ll be part of the squad, Postecoglou suggested a debut might be put on hold while all but confirming Iwata won’t make his full Celtic debut. He said: [Glasgow Times]

“I’ll put a team out I think can win the game for us.

“Tomoki’s still building up his fitness. He hasn’t played for quite a while, but he is available. He’ll be part of the squad and if we get him some game time we will. But the team that goes out will hopefully get the job done.”

Ange Postecoglou has made it very clear he won’t be underestimating Morton and is putting out a strong team that he believes will see Celtic make it into the hat for the next round.
