JONN KENNEDY provided an update on James Forrest who missed the Glasgow Derby defeat on Sunday.

James was starting his second game back for Celtic against Livingston last week when he limped off the field.

There was hope he would have made it in time for Sunday but it wasn’t to be.

However, Kennedy confirmed there’s no long term injury there and James will be back quickly.

Speaking to Premier Sports Live before kick off on Sunday, the interim Hoops boss said:

“He was close. He’ll not miss a long time out. It was one of those that we just could get enough into him. He wasn’t fully comfortable having to do full activities so we had to leave it.”

Celtic missed James on Sunday.

This season is gone now and if there’s any doubts over his fitness James should be kept for next season.

It’s not a long time away. As we sit today, it’s around three months to our next competitive game.

Champions League qualifier in July will be here before we know it. Will we have everthing in place by then? It’s hard to see that scenario.
