Japanese based journalist Dan Orlowitz is on form this week. Dan translated a brilliant TV appearance by Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate on Monday morning and by afternoon he was batting away rumours about J-League players and Celtic.

A Japanese rumours account linked Celtic with five separate players but Dan being savvy – noticed these rumours were absolutely false and had been taken from an English written article on potential players Celtic could go for in the J-League.

We’ve been covering Celtic for over a decade and have noticed these weird trends and transfer circles. One site in Scotland writes about a rumour, it gets translated in another country weeks later and passed off as news, we then see the first site who wrote about it then double down and reveal there’s reports from elsewhere confirming the deal is on. Did you follow that?

Ultimately, there are Celtic fans who will just wait until players are announced or nearly announced to get their transfer fill.

There’s others like ourselves who like to do digging and find out where the club’s heads at when it comes to transfers. We do our best to prefix any rumour by calling it a rumour. If we know more, we tell you more.

Celtic aren’t back for two months, so get buckled in for the transfer circus.
