CeltsAreHere had the privilege of interviewing Joe Hart on Sunday evening before his special event at a sold-out Kerrydale suite in Celtic Park.
We, along with other fan media, had the unique opportunity to discuss Joe’s career, his tenure at Celtic, and his future plans.
During our conversation, Joe shared an unexpected but cherished memory from his time at Celtic: playing at the Tony Macaroni Stadium. With genuine affection and no trace of irony, Joe reflected, “I can’t get away from Livi away,” smiling as he added, “I do love Livi away. I think for everything that it is — it’s a plastic pitch, it’s a tough game, but the fact there are like four-fifths Celtic fans, the atmosphere is electric. It really just feels special.”
Joe fondly remarked, “This place speaks for itself [Celtic Park], but Livi away will live long in the memory.”
It’s intriguing to think that the goalkeeper, a guy who has won the EPL and saved a penalty save against Ronaldinho once upon a time, holds such warm memories of visiting Livingston with the Hoops.
After our discussion, Joe proceeded to the stage where he continued to reminisce about Livingston away to the captivated audience, even mentioning the occasion when he received a red card there.
As Joe approaches retirement at the end of the season, his legacy includes not just the grand stages he’s played on but also the unique stories from places like what SPFL fans affectionately call ‘The Spaghettihad.’ With Celtic’s potential to secure a title and possibly a double this season, Joe’s final chapters are set to be as memorable as the rest of his storied career.
