JOE HART will wear the captain’s armband for Celtic’s trip to the Santiago Bernabéu, with Carter-Vickers left behind in Scotland.
The American pulled up sore after Celtic’s 3-0 win against Livingston, with Ange Postecoglou admitting the plastic surface the team played on didn’t do the player any favours.
So, with Callum McGregor and Cameron Carter-Vickers both missing for the match, Postecoglou turned to Joe Hart to lead the team. It’s a decision that was expected, but many hoped that Greg Taylor would receive some recognition.
Of course, Joe Hart has some great European experience and is a leader in the dressing room, so it makes sense for him to lead the rest of the Bhoys.

It’s unusual for a goalkeeper to captain a side, but there are some clubs whose goalies wear the armband.
Hopefully, it doesn’t matter too much, and the players take responsibility and step up to lead if required.
