JOHN BARNES has tipped his former club Celtic to win nine in a row but he also made the admission he believes Celtic will lose their star striker in the summer.

The Englishman spent a short time as Celtic manager after his playing career had come to an end which ended in a nightmare for both Celtic and Barnes.

The former Liverpool man is now a pundit and speaks out over racial behaviour and politics on a regular basis.

He was asked his opinion on Celtic and how he sees the season panning out. John thinks Celtic will wrap up the title but the Ibrox club will come closer.

With regards to Odsonne Edouard, the former boss believes the player will join the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Moussa Dembele when he looks to leave at the end of this season.

“Edouard’s a good young player, and as much as players might like playing for clubs like Celtic or Rangers, for their career they will want to move on.” he told RecordSport.

“Celtic will be open to sell for £20million to £30m.

“With the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Moussa Dembele staying at Celtic for a short while before moving on to bigger clubs, Edouard be given a similar opportunity next summer.”

Edouard has been in top form so far this season and is on track to top his past two years at the club. His exploits for the France under 21 side put him firmly in the eye of many scouts and Celtic will likely field offers for the frontman next year whether we like it or not.
