MARIAN SHVED has been given a boost today as he gets a call up to the Ukranian squad despite his current Celtic situation according to SunSport.

The attacking midfielder has struggled to make the breakthrough into the first team and has played very little game time since making the full time switch to Glasgow in the summer.

Many believed Shved would come in and make a big splash early on but Neil Lennon has not used him and he rarely even makes the bench at present. This is why a Ukranian call-up was unexpected but will give the player a much needed boost as he looks to come into the reckoning for club and country.

Andriy Shevchenko has decided to call up the Celtic midfielder with a Friendly against Estonia in the offing where Marian could add to the one cap he already has.

There’s also a qualifier against Serbia but it’s unlikely Marian would get competitive game time at this juncture.

The Celtic squad is so competitive at the moment and Shved is a victim of having too many choices in his position. The players who are training the hardest and showing the most in training will be getting the nod. When Scott Sinclair can’t make the squad, Marian has little chance.
