Former Celtic scout John Park who was responsible for finding players like Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk for The Hoops has reportedly taken a senior role with Rangers.

The Athletic report the former Celtic scouting chief has taken on a role under Ross Wilson at Ibrox and will be tasked with finding players to bring down Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic.

John Was with Celtic from 2009 until 2016 and worked closely with all managers during that period. There were a good few gems in John’s work but there were also some stinkers.

Park has been hailed for his recruitment in the past and recently vacated his role at Blackburn when former Celtic boss Tony Mowbray was moved on.

It will be interesting to see what Park comes up with and how he goes about plotting his old club’s down fall. Celtic’s recruitment over the past 12 months has been as near to perfect as can be.

If Ange and the Celtic scouting team continue their strike rate in the transfer market, the bhoys shouldn’t worry about who is scouting for the opposition.

  1. Stinkers or not I’d have rather we got him back in some capacity instead of letting him go and help the Southside Scumbags. Stupid move by Celtic.
