ALISTAIR JOHNSTON is BACK in training ahead of the end of the season and vitally the Scottish Cup final.

The Canadian has been out since the semi-final of the competition when a collision with Barasic ended his game early and had him in crutches leaving Hampden.

It led many Celtic fans to believe the defender’s season was over. However, with three games to go of this season, he’s back in training and could be in contention for a start on Saturday against Aberdeen!

It means there’s a good chance Alistair could be in the squad for the cup final against Inverness when Celtic chase an eighth treble!

It will be a massive boost to the Celtic support to see Johnston back in training. They have really taken to the player since he signed for the club in January from Montreal.

He has seamlessly fit into Ange Postecoglou’s side and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a supporter who doesn’t think AJ has been an upgrade on Josip Juranovic!

Fingers crossed he’s fit in time to make the final.
