According to reports this morning, Celtic winger Jota was NOT at Lennoxtown as the bhoys reported for the first day of training after the summer break.
Jota has been at the centre of a lucrative transfer move which would see him make the move to Saudi Arabia. However, to this point, there has been no agreement at Celtic’s end to make the deal happen.
Many expected Jota to be back in training until things are thrashed out, but SunSport had a photographer down outside the Celtic training complex and there was no sign of the Portuguese superstar.
Brendan Rodgers took his first training session back as Celtic boss, meeting a lot of the team for the first time. Players like CCV, Stephen Welsh and Matt O’Riley were in attendance. Callum McGregor and a lot of the international bhoys will link up with the team later in the week.
Celtic fans don’t want to see Jota go, but if he is to leave, they’d rather it happen quickly so the club can reinvest the cash.
