Celtic fans are impatiently waiting on a new manager being appointed. CeltsAreHere understand that man WILL be Eddie Howe but what we don’t know is why there’s such a major hold up.

Considering Eddie Howe has been pretty much locked in by many in the media since the Easter weekend, fans thought an announcement would follow quickly.

Instead, we’ve had silence from the Celtic board and PR team on what exactly is going on.

Rob MacLean told the Go Radio Football Show on Tuesday night he also believes Eddie Howe is the next manager of Celtic Football Club but has been hearing potential contract ties with Bournemouth is holding up the deal. The presenter goes as far as the Celtic hierarchy dropping hints about the deal to the media without giving away anything conclusive.

Speaking on Tuesday, Maclean said:

“All Celtic fans are desperate for some news and the feeling is that there will be some news – maybe even this week.

“Presumably, it’s just a matter of time before it is formally announced that Eddie Howe is in the job

“I’m hearing that there might be contractual things going on, there might be links still back to Bournemouth and reasons why he can’t be appointed as the Celtic manager until the end of the season”

“In between times, there has been this massive void of information, even hints being dropped by the Celtic hierarchy that everything was under control.”

This could just be conjecture or an educated guess by the media on why this deal hasn’t been officially announced.

There were rumours Eddie was still on the books at Bournemouth and that deal will come to an end as soon as the season is over.

However, if that’s the case, Celtic have waited until May to appoint Eddie to save a bit of cash. Some might say it’s prudent given the size of the rebuild we’re about to undertake,

If it’s something contractual holding up the deal then you have to imagine Eddie is already working unofficially for the Hoops.
