Former Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has been without a club since Celtic let go of the player at the end of June.

The Croatian had a year option left on his contract which the club chose not to trigger and let him go on his way.

The defender had highs and lows at the club and was blighted by injury during his time.

The cost-cutting measures at the start of the summer when the lockdown came in meant Craig Gordon, Jonny Hayes, Jozo Simunovic and a whole host of reserve players were let go.

Since then, Jozo has been looking for a new club. He has found it difficult in this current climate to find a new team but according to RecordSport, he’s about to sign for Turkish side Goztepe.

Previous attempts to find a new club were halted when his troublesome knee flagged up in medicals.

Goztepe are currently sixth in the Turkish League and look to be taking a chance on the player to see if he can prove his fitness.

We wish Jozo all the best.
