Celtic fans have been waiting for the emergence of Karamoko Dembele for a long time after seeing the youngster burst into the youth scene at Parkhead.

The winger has been working his way through the ranks and has a couple of first team appearances to his name but only a short cameo this season.

Dembele has not been seen in the first team picture for a while and with Hamilton and Celtic Reserves playing on Friday — the tricky midfielder wasn’t in that squad either.

It’s led to all sorts of speculation surrounding the youngsters future. His first professional contract was signed in 2019 but it’s up at the end of the season. With no real system in place for reserve and youth players and Neil Lennon not believing he’s ready, there’s a big chance he walks away this summer not having reached any sort of potential with Celtic.

Supporters have been waiting for the day this lad explodes onto the scene but our quest for ten in a row looks to have severely hampered his progress. Neil Lennon has not been the best at giving youth a chance — Ewan Henderson played a man of the match performance just before Brendan Rodgers left two years ago and was on the ascendancy, since then, he’s completely dropped off the map — a loan spell cut short last season not doing anything for him.
