A quick update on our breaking story last night on Kolo Toure’s destination.

Celtsarehere.com understands the defender flew into Glasgow this morning to seal the deal with the Scottish Champions.

The 35-year old has been without a team since the end of last season when he left Liverpool. He has spent most of his career in England playing for Arsenal, Man City and the Anfield outfit under Brendan Rodgers.

Although he was more of a backup player at the club, he made 20 appearances the season Liverpool and Rodgers were a slip away from winning the Premier League title.

His experience could be invaluable to the squad, he can help in the short-term and in the long-term Celtic will be able to hopefully call upon Sviatchenko and Simunovic.

We understand terms have been agreed and the player just needs to do his medical, we’re unclear how long the deal is at this point but if he passed his medical the big man will be unveiled or at least in the stands for today’s Leicester friendly.

As we mentioned previously, Kolo will be able to be registered for this week’s game against FC Astana but it will be highly unlikely he does as he won’t be match sharp.

We understand there will be at least one more player coming next week also.
