Raith Rovers have made a strong statement on how they want the season to end and more importantly — how they don’t want the season to end.

The club is top of League One at the moment with Falkirk only one point behind.

The proposal put forward last week by the SPFL would have seen Raith be promoted to the Championship and Partick relegated to League One.

Dundee have still to vote on the proposal but it looks like a no go at this point.

Raith do support league reconstruction and favour two clubs coming in from the Lowland’s league to make up a new look system.

Failing that, they are willing to look at other reconstruction ideas.

But one thing they did say — they will NOT accept the season being made null and void. The fact they have felt the need to say it, means someone in the 42 clubs has brought the idea to the table.

Here is Raith’s position on that:

Our position is clear: We want the 2019-20 season declared over, funds distributed and discussion about reconstruction to start very soon.

Any attempt to deem the 2019/20 season null and void and deny us being named as winners of League 1 and/or not promoted will be vigorously resisted.

We will update everyone as soon as the situation becomes clearer, whenever that might be.

Celtic would like to see the games go ahead if possible but null and void will not be supported by many, the financial implications it causes would be too severe,
