Leigh Griffiths will not be charged for an online incident earlier this month it has emerged.
The striker had just penned a new one-year deal with the club when he was sent home from the pre-season training camp in Wales due to screenshots emerging online.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told SunSport: “In relation to recent reporting regarding alleged inappropriate communications online, a full assessment has been carried out and it’s been established there is no criminality.”
Celtic were said to be carrying out their own probe into the matter and have yet to shed light on the player’s future.
While no criminality has been found there are many supports who believe Leigh has overstepped some boundaries.
It’s up to the club to decide if that warrants further action or if he will come back into the fold.
It’s safe to say Leigh won’t be part of the Midjtylland game next week having missed a good chunk of the pre-season camp.
We’ll see if the striker rejoins the players back at Lennoxtown this week.
The club are wrapping up their Welsh adventure against Bristol City this evening before heading back to Glasgow where they prepare for Preston on Saturday, followed by the Champions League qualifier on Tuesday.
He is a striker we need at present give him ultimatum.
This is smelling like a smear campaign probably media driven.
Welcome back now let us get this show on the road let us do this Celtic do it…
