The biggest stat coming out of last night has to be the goal tally for the season and we’re still only in September.

The team collectively have scored 51 goals already this season which is a whopping 26 more goals than they had this time last year under Brendan Rodgers.

We won another treble last year but the football under Brendan had become stale with teams sussing out to play against us and setting up accordingly. Total possession football under the former boss seen a lot of side to side passing and frustrating passages of play.

Contrast it to this season and we’re banging in goals – being a bit more direct in our attitude to the game. To have 51 goals on the board already is phenomenal and this free scoring Celtic side don’t look like they want to stop.

The biggest takeaway from Celtic thumping Partick Thistle on Wednesday night was the strength in depth we have. No Christie, no Forrest or Edouard but it didn’t matter one bit.

Celtic have a semi-final date with Hibernian next month for a place in the final.
