Liel Abada is set to jet off to the United States in the coming days to seal a deal with Major League Soccer club, Charlotte FC.

The Israeli forward’s departure comes amid escalating pressures from his home country, with a portion of the Celtic fanbase expressing solidarity with the Palestinian cause amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Celtic is on the verge of clinching a £10 million transfer fee for Abada, reports Sky Sports. This figure has raised eyebrows, especially considering the complexities surrounding the player’s current situation.

All going well, he’ll complete his medical and sign as a designated player later this week, despite signing a number 4-year deal with Celtic just a few months ago.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has openly discussed Abada’s current state, acknowledging that the winger has not been in the proper mindset to represent the club on the pitch. As a result, Abada has been absent from the squad since the match at Easter Road, although he has continued to participate in training sessions.

Since joining Celtic in 2021 for a fee of £3.5 million has scored 29 goals and provided 22 assists over 119 appearances for the club.
