Liel Abada is on the cusp of sealing a move to Charlotte FC from Celtic, with his medical now completed.

This move is expected to be finalized within the next 24 hours with Abada joining the Major League Soccer side as a young Designated Player.

The 22-year-old is set to see Celtic rake in £10 million.

His last appearance in a matchday squad came during Celtic’s away game against Hibs on February 7th, after which Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers remarked that Abada wasn’t in the right mental state to play for the club, despite continuing to train with the team.

Dean Smith, Charlotte FC’s head coach and former Aston Villa gaffer, will undoubtedly view Abada as a key addition to his squad.

Abada’s exit comes as no surprise to anyone. He’s made the club a decent bit of money, for a player who had no interest in playing for Celtic, due to the pressures he’s faced from his homeland, not Celtic fans.

  1. The President of his former club in Israel, Ari Luzon, is a lying toad, claiming that Abada had no choice but to leave Celtic because fans “treated him disgustingly”. This man, incidentally, stands to make a big profit from Abada’s move to the MLS, which is why he manipulated this immature and sulky wee lad into moving. Good riddance to Abada and his persecution complex, I hope Celtic never recruit another Israeli after this shocking behaviour.
