Liverpool legend Luis Suarez has endorsed Brendan Rodgers’ return to Celtic, stating that the incoming manager will elevate the team to the next level.

Suarez, who worked under Rodgers at Liverpool, credits the Northern Irishman for his successful career trajectory.
Suarez and Rodgers had a fruitful partnership at Liverpool, nearly clinching the league title with the help of fellow striker Daniel Sturridge.
Rodgers later moved to Celtic in 2016 before returning to England to manage Leicester City in 2019.
Now, with Rodgers set to return to Celtic Park, Suarez believes it’s a beneficial move for both parties.
The Uruguayan forward, who went on to form a formidable strike force with Lionel Messi and Neymar at Barcelona, stated that Rodgers was instrumental in his development.
He told the Daily Record:
“Celtic already have some very good players – but under Brendan they can go to the next level if they listen to him. For me he is one of the best coaches in Europe and it is no surprise to me that he has got back into the game so quickly.”
Suarez also praised Rodgers’ passion for the game and his commitment to playing attractive football. He added:
“If it was not for Brendan I am not sure I would have had the career that I did – he invested so much in me.
“He obviously cares about the team and about playing attractive football – but what people maybe won’t know is how much he works one on one with every single player.
“He will sit down with you as often as he needs to and make a plan for areas you need to improve, talk about strengths, look at a weakness in the opposition that you as a player can exploit.”
Fans are desperate for Rodgers’ announcement, with pre-season creeping up on the side and work to do in the transfer market.
