Celtic marauded to a 6-0 victory over Aberdeen last Sunday afternoon. A standout in the match, Hoops winger Luis Palma contributed to four goals throughout.

The Honduran internationalist bagged a hat-trick of assists as he also scored from the spot. Post-match, his gaffer Brendan Rodgers praised him. He said (BBC Sportsound via Football Scotland): “The wingers are growing, Luis Palma has added variety to his game which is important. I think when he first came he always came inside but now he can go outside and if he has space he can cross it, he doesn’t have to beat the man.”

For the Scottish champions’ opener last week, this side of Palma’s game was put on display. Indeed he dropped the shoulder, got to the bye-line, and crossed for Yang at the back post.

He was outstanding throughout and his presence and performances have undoubtedly lessened the blow of Jota’s departure. Palma has become a fan-favourite at Celtic despite only being at the club for a matter of months, and he will be aiming to continue such form as his Hoops career progresses.
