Fillip Benkovic will be due back at Leicester after the international break to either start training with his new team-mates and old manager or he will be there to thrash out his future with Brendan Rodgers.

Both Brendan Rodgers and Fillip Benkovic haven’t ruled out the possibility of the defender heading back to Celtic this summer if the Leicester boss doesn’t have a spot for the Croatian.

There could be great news for Celtic on that front with reports down south claiming Leicester are about to sign a central defender for £30million according to an exclusive from TeamTalk.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen his defence and it appears he’s about to spend a large chunk of cash on Lewis Dunk. The report does suggest this move could likely make way for Harry McGuire to leave King Power Stadium – a position Benkovic would have been looking to fill come the start of the season.

If the Croatian is going to sit on the bench then Brendan Rodgers has already said he wouldn’t hesitate in sending him back out on-loan to Celtic.

Could this be a viable option for Neil Lennon?
