Celtic are set to welcome back some of their players today as pre-season begins.
All players who haven’t been on international duty will report back to Lennoxtown to begin preparation for next season.
Ange Postecoglou is set to take the team next week with his self isolation period stopping the new manager from taking training this week.
John Kennedy is expected to take the team in Ange’s absence.
It’s a new era at Celtic – everyone will have a clean slate to show what they can do. The guys who are back early have an opportunity to stake their claim for a place in the side before some of their teammates return.
Some questions could be answered this week. A big one being Leigh Griffiths’ contract situation.
There’s been no word if the nee manager is keen to trigger Leigh’s contract extension but if the striker turns up for training it could be a big indication he’s staying.
Leigh has been posting training videos of himself on Instagram showing he’s putting in the hard work ahead of next season. There’s a chance he turns up for training without a deal in place and waits for Ange to turn up at Lennoxtown.
